Okay, this is a rant, but let’s take a look at the facts….
CoPilot = £25.99, add a pretty decent cradle for £15.00, = Total of £35.99
TomTom = £59.99, add the TomTom cradle around £100 (maybe more) and that’s £159.99
That means that the TomTom solution is over 4 times the price!

Okay, the main difference is the external GPS receiver in the cradle and an external speaker. Most people now days have some kind of Bluetooth Car Kit/Speaker/headset, so that surely negates having a speaker in the cradle mount (although I know it’s a nice thing to have and wouldn’t want to deprive any mount of that).
So basically let’s recap…..you’re paying £124 more for a GPS Receiver built-into the cradle and for the possibility of having a speaker. That is just insane!
What’s more insane…? Some people will probably pay for it to get a better GPS receiver for their iPhone, but a lot in the current economic climate will take a look and just simply say…..no way!

CoPilot can pretty much do the job for me. I am also an advocate of inexpensive items. Thanks for the comparison.
