TomTom for iPhone – Don’t walk!

I tried walking with TomTom’s application for the iPhone today through Central London. Although it did update the map it always thought I was walking backwards for some reason (look at the blue chevron/arrow/pointer on the map) and kept asking me to turn around…

I also found that the TomTom map kept spinning around a lot when walking at low speed and never did actually guide me to my destination :-(

  1. I have tried to use it in Paris with exactly the same result. When I get back to Australia I intend gettting my money back. It is simply usless when walking.

Dont buy the Iphone TomTom app if you intend to use it for walking. It does not work

  2. I have gotten the same results in USA. Whenever I am walking with TomTom, it will show me the opposite of my direction of walking. What I have done is place the 2D map at North Up, and then figure out which direction I need to go by looking at the distination relative to my arrow position, and then walk in that direction with the iphone compass.
