Better iPhone Battery usage?

There’s a number of ways you can improve your battery usage on the iPhone. I know it’s not practical for most to disable all wireless, switch your phone into airplane mode, or disable 3G but here’s a few other ways you can conserve battery power that you might not have thought about…

  • Upgrade your OS – to ensure your battery is being used optimally
  • Turn off WiFi – if you don’t need WiFi at that moment in time, disable it temporarily to conserve battery power
  • Turn off Bluetooth – if you don’t need to use a headset or speaker, then disable this temporarily
  • Turn off Location Services – there’s apps that will still try to talk out over 3G and WiFi that will consume battery power
  • Turn off Push Email – this can consume as much as 20% of your battery power some say
  •
It might not be possible to do all of the above, or you may not want to keep playing with turning things on or off, but it could save you a little bit of battery power when you need it the most.
