A number of people ask me “what’s in that long black felt pouch” I carry around?” The simple answer is it’s a b-tube speaker. This is a great mobile speaker, comes with a mains charger (sorry not batteries), and a 3.5mm double ended jack plug/lead. This you can plug into any device (including the iPhone) and get much louder music to listen to (or even pod casts). Okay that doesn’t sound that spectacular I hear you chant, however it also has Bluetooth support. So you can also use it as a hands free “loud” speaker phone too and it has a pickup mic on the front of the tube.
When using it in loud hands-free speaker mode you have to turn the volume down quite a bit otherwise the person on the other end of the phone complains they can hear their own voice when they talk (echo), but other than this it’s a great mobile gadget accessory I always carry with me whenever I have space in a bag.
Not only that but it looks real nice in the brushed aluminum effect, speakers are on both ends. The left speak you press in (it doubles up as a power button) and the right hand speaker rotates around the barrel as this is the volume control. Pretty neat eh? It also sports A2DP!

David, Please help! I’m dying here! I’m trying to sync my Linx B-Tube speaker to my bluetooth on my Macbook Pro! But the signal is far away, distorted and practically unlistenable!
The bluetooth signal from my Sony Ericsson Mobile phone to the B-Tube is beautiful!
Any ideas – Help?
Thank you,
Simon

Hi Simon, if it’s working on your Sony Ericsson then the speaker is okay so it probably is there’s either an incompatibility with the Macbook Pro or the Bluetooth drivers on your Macbook Pro are either outdated or are experiencing a problem. I would apply all the updates available for the Macbook Pro and see if that helps, or try to contact Linx direct as they might know of a resolution.
Thanks
Dave
