WM6.5 anyone?

Is it just me, or does the Windows Mobile 6.5 main launch screens look, kinda, uninviting?

I really don’t know what Microsoft was thinking of here, and to me it’s kinda worrying because a spokes person at Microsoft China says Redmond’s expecting more than 30 phones running Windows Mobile 6.5 before the end of the year.

There might well be 30 more devices planned for next year from other hardware manufacturers but it takes both device, OS and applications to wow people. Although the iPhone UI doesn’t look hugely impressive when you look at the icons on the screen, it’s usability is much higher. Let’s hope the same happens with Windows Mobile 6.5.

Let’s hope SPB and others continue to evolve their add-on shells to make the devices more attractive.
