The new HTC Leo (or Imagio) as Verizon are calling it is due to be launched on Verizon on 20th October according to PDA 247. Likewise it’s been confirmed that O2 will have the HTC Leo from October 12th at Top 10.
The Leo is the first Windows Mobile phone to be launched under the HTC banner for a while, with the company more recently choosing to focus on the Android mobile phone operating system (OS).
Features of the Leo, which will run on the latest edition of Microsoft’s OS (Windows Mobile 6.5) include a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm processor, to allow lag-free, simultaneous use of its functions, a 4.3-inch (large) touchscreen and a five megapixel camera with a dual LED flash.
This will be a large Pocket PC compared to some of the other Pocket PC’s that HTC have released. It’s good to see some larger devices appearing on the market, but you will look a little silly holding up a slab to your face though when talking on the phone.
Let’s hope HTC have fixed the aweful implementation of Bluetooth on their later devices (namely HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch HD, HTC Touch Diamond 2, HTC Touch Pro 2) where the Bluetooth stack will close down and drop the Bluetooth connection if the processor is under pressure.
