Multitasking is a given must in the current hectic lifestyle, and multitasking is something I am increasingly surprised at how better I get week on week. However, it comes to a point sometimes when you just have too much on your plate, or just too many balls to juggle to keep in the air at any one time, and then you start to get to the burn out stage.
I’m starting to hit the burnout stage, I haven’t dropped any balls yet, and they’re all still in the air, perfectly round, but when I look at my screen and my ever increasing task and project list, I think, “which one should I tackle next?”. Followed by a thousand thoughts that race through my head trying to work out the extreme mathematical equations on what happens if this task is prioritised above the other task. Then just when I think I can either sigh or relax, there’s another thousand thoughts that come through to my head saying “pick me, pick me, don’t pick him!”.
I think what doesn’t help it is I always have been a heavy coffee drinker, and caffeine for my body in particular is very very bad, and I’m trying to cut the caffeine out. I’m getting way too many heart palpitations which isn’t good, and the problem with cutting caffeine out is it makes you less hyperactive. I always find caffeine allows me to clear my head and really start to multitask more.
Oh I’m longing for a nice hot steaming vanilla or caramel latte!
