Unfortunately yet again the Royal Mail postal workers in the UK are striking and this time for three days….Thursday, Friday and Saturday and are already planning on days to strike next week.
This is really starting to annoy me! I understand the reasons behind the strike, but do strikes really work?
- It doesn’t look good on Royal Mail workers from a promotion prospect in the future
- It creates a lot of negativity with people wanting to receive their letters and parcels, especially in the run up to Christmas (yes a lot of people are doing Christmas shopping early!)
- Do strikes really work ? These are so 1970′s
Personally it’s annoyed me as I wanted to order a number of things for next day delivery and completely forgetting the Royal Mail strike was on, placed a number of orders. The first few were taken, I have now paid more for next day delivery and will not receive these packages in the next day. The other orders I placed wouldn’t allow for next day delivery (presumably the likes of Amazon have caught on quick and disabled this on their site).

I’m pretty sure Amazon have themselves covered with several courier companies in the event of a strike.

They don’t appear to, they didn’t have their next day delivery service enabled on checkout today
