Makers of Vampires Live Accused of Stealing Players’ Phone Numbers

Don’t you just hate it when these stories come about. This isn’t the first company accused of stealing mobile phone numbers from users to sell on for marketing purposes. First there was a french developer, and now Storm8, makers of the iPhone games iMobsters and Vampires Live have had a suit brought against them accusing the company of using a back door to gather users phone numbers.

The company, who produces a whole series of “live” games are said to use their software to illegally and automatically gather the numbers of anyone downloads one of their games.

The full text of the lawsuit is available for anyone wanting to look into the full lawsuite.

Seeing that all of their games are identical shovelware supported by microtransactions, with just slightly different skins, we’re leaning to this being a big old dirty scam.

If you have one of these games than it’s possible you may be affected by this:-

  • World War
  • Ninjas Live
  • Zombies Live
  • iMobsters
  • Racing Live
  • Rockstars Live
  • Vampires Live
  • Kingdoms Live
