I have a number of email addresses that have been around on the internet since 2000 and these get an enormous amount of space. Several years ago I moved to Spamcop to filter my spam but it still left me to go through and manually mark about 30 spams a day which was annoying me but it still flagged an enormous amount properly as spam each day. Then an outage of not receiving any email caused me to re-evaluate my spam filter recently, and after a quick test I realised just how good Gmail was at filtering spam, so very quickly switched to forwarding all of my email from about 30 email addresses I have into my Gmail account.
Since then I’ve been in pure bliss with only having to flag about 5 emails manually a week as spam. Even better I get all of my email direct to my iPhone!
I’m really amazed though at how many spam email I’ve been receiving as I hadn’t really taken a look at the sheer volume per day I was receiving until now, thanks to Google, 99.9% of the emails are being properly trapped as spam! Nearly 13,000 spam in 2 months equates to over 200 spam emails a day!
