Looking for a good game this holiday? Check out Ice Road Truckers, it’s based on the hugely successful and popular TV series called, wait for it….Ice Road Truckers! Ice Road Truckers lets you take control of huge 18-wheelers on your iPhone or iPod Touch and drive your way across the ice roads. Similar to car racing games, the main theme of the game is to drive the truck as fast as possible but within the speed limit and get to the destination within time. They don’t however give you much time, so if you slide off the Ice Road once or twice, you’re going to find it difficult.
You also get very authentic sounds of driving over the Ice Roads and hearing the Ice crack. If you’re a fan of Ice Road Truckers or just like to watch the series, then you will probably like this game.

The game is great, but it gets pretty annoying if you hit another on-coming truck as you seem to bounce around the landscape and get shoved way off the road. I guess that’s a good enough reason to avoid hitting another 18-wheeler! Likewise trying not to slide off-road can be difficult at times, requiring you to race the same level 4 or 5 times, but once you’ve mastered it you move on. A lot of people have complained about the levels being too easy, the early ones possibly but the later ones tend to get harder and harder with less time to complete the level.
You control the truck by pressing the power/brake pedels on-screen and steering the 18-wheeler with the accelerometer.
Conclusion
Well worth the money, especially if you like watching the series!
