Photo editing on the #iPad – how good is it?

The iPad is a great device, or as Apple say on their latest adverts a “Magical” device. It can do so much, you can surf the web, check your email, create blog posts (I am typing this post on the iPad), play games, tweet, post to Facebook, do social networking, the list just goes on and on.

I love the iPad, the iPhone was great but the iPad with a larger screen opens you up to doing so much more. There are things though that you cant do very well, and that is manipulating files between various applications along with photo editing.

For this post I would usually on a PC create an image for the post from a number of different photos / images and merge them together, e.g. I might take at of say Adobe Photoshop and impose the logo or box onto the image. This is where the iPad doesn’t fare so well and becomes quite a restricted device. Hopefully we will see image editing tools that will allow for these types of photo editing tasks. There are apps out there for image rotation cropping and these do the job just great, but still don’t go the full hog in giving you creative freedom like you can get on a PC or Mac.
